Prodigal Son

Well, he's back. Accompanied only by his laptop, shorts and teeshirt. His luggage is in cyberspace courtesy of Air Canada and the Luggage Losing Machine that is Heathrow.
He definitely feels conspired against. Stories of weird behaviour by various family members (eg "It's only a high school romance". These "kids" are 20!; Roxie's email passwords were inveigled from her when she was delirious;her phone has been taken back; the doctors told Jus what a good job he was doing, until things changed) I suspect there is an underlying culture clash where kids in America arent allowed adult freedoms until they are approaching their mid twenties. At least he can talk about it, even though he now really resents Roxie's family. He knows her dad rang me, and doesnt resent that at all. He has been great tonight, and we had a long talk. He just has to maintain relations with her family and in a few weeks all will be hunky dory.
I only shouted at him once when he thoroughly patronised me about internet security, but apart from that, he has been interested and only giggled a bit when he gave me a tour of facebook ("I don't believe you are on that dad").
I bought him a wireless stick for his PC off Amazon, and he gave me a pair of speakers to upgrade my laptop even though they buzz like buggery and a link to RadioBlogClub. He laughed with Mel at some crap on TV. So back to normal really. Thank you for your support (previous blog).
Oh yes, and my daughter is 3 days overdue from producing her son. I really must blog about her more, but she is on my doorstep and generally gives me less grief. Not literally on my doorstep, but I can see the light from her window, bless her.
