Bank Holiday in The Lenches

En famille to friends in darkest Worcestershire. Justin actually came with us, the first time in a few years, bringing his lovely friend Nat, who had to weave a web of lies to get out of work for a couple of days. I think the trip away did the pair of them a power of good (she has just dumped her long time boyfriend). Accommodation was sparse but adequate, the views acceptable (that is Redditch over there).

There are no pubs in the Lench villages (all 5 of them) because of some 19th Century Methodist, but there is a club, which because of this weekend's beer festival, was free entry to all. I walked over with Jus and Nat (and here is their album cover shot)
We got hopelessly lost in the fields, but made it before dark, fortunately.
There was a band on, who although they played too many Beatles covers, were pretty good, prompting displays which caused embarrassment.
Jus and Nat took themselves off to Worcester on Sunday, to see a Uni chum who lives in the Cathedral Close (doncha know), thus allowing me to disgrace myself Sunday evening without the watchful eyes of pure and innocent offspring. We all gathered in the music room (about 30 people) back at the house. There were no volunteers for drums, so I took on the task (1 stick, or two brushes, either way it wasnt pretty. I did get to drum to "Roxette"(click the link), (that's 30 years from seeing Doctor Feelgood at Kingston Poly, to me drumming to one of their songs. All is right with the world).

Oh, and there was a slight accident with one of the dishes.

And on the way back, we left Jus with a chum in Keynsham. His uni chums all seem very well off, which shows he has good networking skills (although we accused him of being their adopted ghetto pet, but as Nat said, "How can you be a gangsta when your mum lives in a castle", and no, Jus, I havent been to prison)

Going to a place where there are no pubs?? That IS decision-making at its rubbishest.
