where we were welcomed with very special treatment (I dont think this was for us)

Quality training, I think, although I had to take my colleague Pete for a calming walk at lunchtime, for a jargon rub down. He was spitting feathers, but it is water off a duck's back to me.
Local Government is obliged by law to treat equality issues seriously, but is a bit of a snakepit, and full of jargon, something perhaps that is now being recognised and moved away from. I managed to speak to the group, which included the deputy Chief Exec, and another Assistant Director (shyness conquered? See previous) and was praised for creating a "powerful image" (sailing boats across the bay)

all going in the same direction, but with a long way to go, and the further they got apart, the harder it was to communicate. And that certain elements of the council were still in the harbour. All in all, a good day, but only to a small and committed section of workers. How we communicate the message of respect and quality of treatment to your average citizen, the ungrateful bastards, I am not so sure
