Darling, we'll always have Paris

The happy coincidence of being in Paris, being all loved up, in the company of good friends, and the discovery of a little market on the Boulevard St Germain, lead Mel and I to buy each other a ring. I think this may mean, quite possibly, perhaps, sort of, conceivably, perchance that we may be tentatively engaged. After 9 happy years.

Congrats! I guess this means she knows what she's getting herself into. (One would hope, anyways..)

Shit you're a profligate bastard...typical of local authorities...you've clearly got money to burn...

after 23 years together, (22 married), my missus has a wedding ring...and that's it...

(Actually it wasn't mean-ness ... at the time we had no engagement ring/wedding ring money and just agreed to do without)...
