They're Back!

Easter weekend sees the start of the new holiday season, and with the lovely weather, town has become very busy.

My sister and her partner took a leisurely six and a half hours to get here.Visitors seem unsure of etiquette: eg getting on trains before people have got off; having no shame in getting served at the bar without acknowledging that others have been waiting far longer; not wearing a shirt off the beach etc, so it is lucky we have some decent roadsigns. We took my sister to Exeter to escape the crowds, but even there was busy.Later we went to the fair, at the request of daughter's daughter, and we went on the dodgems. Inevitably, she banged her nose and I hurt my knee in a tragic accident, after which the attentive young man made us get off, even though I was prepared to continue driving through the veil of tears.

Sandy and I went down to the station where a holiday steam train went by

and then we were visited by our friends from the Home Counties, on their way back from a cat show. Luckily, this time they didnt pretend to be Jehovah's Witnesses, but bought cats instead.

Tip of the Day: When opening ancient tins of paint, dont use my front door key because you will bend it irreparably (Melanie!) and dont use a spanner (a spanner!) because you will make your fingers bleed (Melanie!). Just ask me and I will go down and get a screwdriver
