Heatwave

We popped down to Cornwall for the weekend on Friday afternoon, to visit our friend John who was camping at Botallack, near St Just the pasty capital of the world.

It has been an incredibly hot weekend, leading John to wear shorts (eek)

He currently has a dose of gout (brought on by BEER), so he hobbled around, as did I (see previous) which caused Mel multiple embarrassment in public places, being followed by two limping men. John had a raspberry ripple icecream, which lead to numerous poor taste comments involving cockney rhyming slang.
We went on loads of walks, including Carn Kenidjack, where we met this fellow,

Pendeen Light,

and somewhere I had never been before: Cape Cornwall

which, bizarrely, is sponsored by HJ Heinz.
Nature is blooming in this weather, flowers everywhere.

The trusty WMD is becoming a bit of a worry though, failing to start on several occasions. I blame the damp, but we shall see.

This morning, Mel and I drove to Sennen where we saw the Longships Light

And then returned via her mum's rock at Treen (It has been nearly 25 years since her mum passed away, and the rock is getting steeper by the year. Cant be long before it falls off.

And as an afterthought, is it legal for horseboxes and tractors to use trunk roads? It's certainly no good for my temper. Bastards
