Euskadi

Biarritz: A big grey church over the harbour, Palace Hotel, a station some way from the town centre, a beautiful bay, a casino, night clubs. Classy.

Torquay: A big grey church over the harbour, Palace Hotel, a station some way from the town centre, a beautiful bay, a casino, night clubs. Tennants Super.

Enough said

San Sebastian is only 30-40kms from Biarritz, yet it took us 5 hours from door to door, what with making a poor connection from bus to train, a late TGV* (40 minutes), trouble finding the Euskotren station in Irun, and not finding a vacant hotel room until the 3rd try. What a fabulous place. The whole world is outside, drinkng and eating Pintxos-Tapas. Photos to follow.

*TGV trains have special signs warning you not to fall off onto the platform. The sort of thing they could do with in the UK, IMHO

I think we assume that English people have enough common sense to realise that falling off is inadvisable, hutters! Perhaps you're really French?

Glad you managed to negotiate the platform. I doubt the gap is that wide.
