Missing Bicycles

Long ago, my office bought a load of bicycles for the use of staff.
This included a couple of horrid Brompton fold up bikes (heavy; spiky bits that jab you when trying to carry them; evil to ride); a mountain bike (Torbay is pretty urban); and a powered bike. Since the colleague who purchased them has left, their whereabouts became a little uncertain. We know one fold up bike is with the boss at his house (maybe used once), one ordinary bike is with his daughter (who no longer works here), and I had a fold up bike in my cellar but office opprobrium caused me to return it. Three other bikes are unaccounted for.
Today, one bike, brand new, unused, was discovered in a cupboard(!?) in the town hall and there are hopes that the other two may be stored at an outpost down in Paignton.
So of all the missing bikes, the boss is responsible for two of them. This is a man, responsible for the promotion of public transport, who doesnt ride a bike, is unable to use public transport (unless we persuade the local bus company to lend us a bus for a jolly, when he acts like this is the first bus he has ever seen) and talks happily to colleagues about his vast car collection, many unknown to his lovely wife.
I think I have persuaded the boss to drop the fold up at my house, which he has just done, bless him (because I actually need it this week) although whether I can be trusted to use it remains to be seen
and to tell his daughter to do the same with hers as she only lives over the tracks. Then I can take them both back to work.
