Entertainment

While sitting in the pub(!) yesterday, we heard a loud, long, horn-blast. All eyes turned to the CCTV screen, which showed this bus
unable to pass this idiotically parked car. It was showing a blue badge (of course), but there was no sign of the driver. The bus soon emptied of passengers while the bus driver phoned the police. After about 20 minutes (all too soon as far as lunch-time entertainment was concerned) the offending driver turned up and slunk off shamefacedly. Blue badges are all very well, but all too often people take the piss. Causing an obstruction is one of them.

It seems to be compulsory for blue badge holders to park in roads that aren't wide enough for vehicles to pass them. If one of those is unavailable, the zigzag marking next to zebra crossings are ideal.

It's really annoying when some people thnk their rights come above anyone else's.

Count me as agreeing with that. It's an extension of the "all rights, no responsibilities" culture that's spreading throughout society.

Isn't that the masonic lodge that car's parked in front of?

While I agree on the stupidity of the driver the photo makes the road seem wide enough for the bus to make it past by mouting the pavement... There are numerous roads round parts of Lancaster where the uni buses can only make the corners by mounting the pavement...But well done for the driver to sticking to his guns!
