I have my annual review coming up. Not been done for two years as the one I arranged communally last year with our team has sat on the director's desk for a year (I see it every time I go in there) and I have only just got a new manager.
You have to fill in part of the form the week before the review happens and list your current responsibilities. I managed to list 30+ which is an achievement in itself. No-one to delegate to, no time to do anything properly, excellent results expected from shoddy briefings, shooting from the hip every time. Write that plan, comment on that application, talk to audit, prepare that report, attend that meeting and have an opinion, consult the public, deal with mail, research this, liaise with them. How I can be expected to not fuck up, I do not know. A Wing and a Prayer, Jack of all trades, master of none etc. That's your reality of the public sector, Eton Boy! This job is becoming a nightmare, and the little yellow pills aren't helping yet.
Oh, and did I mention the office move? No help except with moving IT and phones. I am chucking all files that haven't been looked at for 2 or more years. No storage available, nor even any boxes to move this stuff. My mug has moved downstairs, so that is it, as far as I am concerned. Where's the teabags?

I was supposed to have my first annual review in 3 years last year. I wonder when it'll happen.
