Delegation and Bluff

As far as management goes, we have a new colleague, who isnt our manager but merely one of us Seniors. He wangled himself a conference in Bristol on his second day: that sort of request makes him one of us immediately.
Today I dealt with management swimmingly:
job advert for two cycle trainers, which I have been worrying about for a week: taken off me by the lovely Therese. Delegation.
Nasty form from the DfT about which I know little (full of dates and money and grants): willingly taken over by Highways Engineers: delegation.
Two Planning Applications: much easier than they seemed, sorted by colleague: delegation and bluff.
Funding problem with cycle training: delegation.
Three Memoranda of Understandings (Plurals? Who cares?) from Sustrans: signed off by the boss: delegation (upwards).
Called at last minute into meeting with architect and developer: bluff, followed by delegation upward to Highways Manager (who was grumpy).
Result.
I shall award myself a day off.
