Muse

Muse are playing Teignmouth in September (it was on Radio One so it must be true). As it is their home town, it is a great gesture, before their world tour. Down on the Den, by the seafront. Passed by the Council with no objections. The town will be shut for 2 days, but, hey, we can leave the car at home and use the train to get to work. 4000 tickets reserved for locals, 16000 available to the great unwashed, ie 2 nights X 10000. Tickets go on sale Friday. Local hotels seemed to have been booked already for the band and friends and the BBC (and there is rumoured to be a special guest, but that's just a rumour). Great business for local shops and pubs etc. One of Muse's uncles did my central heating, and my daughter's daughter goes to school with the child of another Muse, so keeping it local. I just printed off my tickets 2 days early as I registered on their site as a precaution, just in time. Result!

NB Note to Burglars: the tickets are hidden in the cellar, so don't bother.

NB2 After I met M off the train tonight, we walked into town to check out if there was an overnight queue for Muse tickets, and lo and behold, there was. Up to about 500 I reckoned. And, no, I didnt flash my preprinted ones at them

I got into a Muse about a year after they were last popular, so that makes me nearly cool
