FCC

Off to Cropredy, and the annual folk-bash near Banbury. As usual, there are many bits only vaguely remembered. Apparently, after wandering around on the nearby railway line, trying to find a geocache (and I heard the police sirens after I had realised my mistake and scarpered sharpish, I was escorted from my tentish coma, arm in arm with my two minders, to catch Buzzcocks (no, I missed them) and Steve Winwood, or was it Phil Collins? He went on for hours and I was happily escorted back by the lovely M and Tammy. Tammy I upset all weekend by calling her real name, for which I was wrestled to the ground the next day (and Stu has the picture). Anyway, after that drunken episode, there were flags in honour of the King and Queen of Sweden,

and that I have recently spent 1/2 a day in Colombia.

Anyway, finding your way about is OK if you have the right flag.

M was her usual charming self,

except when I gobbed off about her favourite new artiste, Scott Matthews, who sounded dire from the back, but ace at the front (apparently). The second day wasnt bad apart from that, with Ade Edmonson, R Thompson and Seth Lakeman, except that the second day included the aforementioned wrestle to the ground, and me tripping over and landing on my nose, trying to escape the bad problem with Seth Lakeman's bass noise. That really hurt.
The last day started off OK, except some people went to the pub for a long time

Star of the show was Cat Stevens/Yusuf in the middle of Fairport's set.

What a lovely man, and he followed a lovely sunset.

Thank you the King and Queen, Jan and Ned, and Stu and Helen, who announced their engagement but not so publicly as the King and Queen, last year (Hurrah! Helen have one child, it is OK, let the Queen of Sweden have her 6, then you can share). I would upload more pictures of this year's fest but they would mostly be incriminating, as would the jokes, which as Equalities and Diversity Officer for my bit of work, I could hardly condone. And it was the first time M and I made it through to the end of the Fairport set.
