Today was the big day for Mellie's facial mole removal, the one on her chin. It didnt come cheap (but Marks and Spencers credit card are pleased) : at the hospital there were comfy chairs! Carpets! Free coffee! Helpful, unflustered staff! Flat screen TVs! All for 5 minutes of surgery. After, she was so pleased with the result (she had been dreading scarring, but you really dont notice it) she allowed me to persuade her to go to M&S to spend the £20 voucher she has recently won in a raffle (see how I lash out on her?). A triumphant and unexpected return to face the public (We had been expecting a weekend of hiding in a darkened room, or wandering friendlessly on the remoter parts of the Moor, or worse, buying a false beard).
After our shopping we returned home, did the food shopping and then I allowed her to buy me lunch (I'm that kinda guy). A day off on a Friday and I feel like I'm retired. Quite a nice feeling really.
Annoying thing: the Union have negotiated that pensions can be allocated to partners (as well as married people), something I have been worrying about for a long time. However, this just gives Mellie another excuse not to marry me. Damn!
