Exhausted

M and I drove up to Aylesbury on Saturday, to stay with her sister and to see Tim Finn in Milton Keynes. We took my old Beemer so that M could give lifts to people to see the old Crowded House boy. Unfortunately, the exhaust started blowing when we got to Aylesbury (it's new as well), so we ended up cruising rural Bucks roaring around like a tractor searching for a venue for which all the direction signs appear to have been stolen. We found it eventually and Mr Finn was very good.Coming home today, I felt myself limited to a mere 70mph, in deference to the chugging exhaust. Which was torture, but got us home. We experienced a Cotswold Blizzard and some amazing cloud formations, and had lunch in Clevedon. The Bristol Channel is amazing there: the brown sea and the Welsh Mountains in the distance, with a wind that would rip the skin off an eskimo. The Boy is home for Easter, I am not allowed to make travel arrangements for him (to meet Roxie from LHR), he did his own washing, and made his own supper, and he doesnt want money (although he does covet my new 2Gb memory stick). As a dad, I am now superfluous. Oh well. Time to make my own life.
