Rare Solo Visit of Daughter's Daughter

Having spent the previous evening at our friends at Moorhaven, a converted mental hospital on the edge of Dartmoor, we spent the morning caching on the moor, along an old tramway north of Ivybridge, within sight of my rarely visited cousin's place at Pit Hill (we are both from Leicestershire, so it is a bit of a coincidence we live so close: we visited for the first time last weekend, after dad's funeral in Sussex), having convinced M that it was an easy short and level walk. Seven miles and a cross country hike later we managed to return to the car (and not a word of complaint).
This afternoon we seem to have volunteered to take my daughter's daughter to the beach and the swings, which is a rare occurence (I dont know why, it just is). Four happy hours with what is normally a sulky little madam (with me, anyway), and her mum picked her up, she having enjoyed a rare afternoon snooze.
M would have made a lovely mother,
now she has to endure being called "nanna", at least to Melissa's friends (of which there are many around town), but it is normally "Mellie"

Just checking in, not got much PC access, which is brilliant!!

Having a super time here in New Jersey, only 4.5 weeks left.

I detect an increase in the frequency of Mel photos on the blog LH, is there love in the air!!!?
