Tuesday Photo Challenge: Strangers in the Night

M arranged to meet her new colleague Helena at the pub on the beach tonight. Helena comes from Teignmouth but has just moved back after living in Manchester for years. No sooner had we got there, then John, husband of her mate Jude from school, also recently moved back from Manchester, shows up for a passing unplanned visit. This is therefore my TPC entry.

Bizarrely, after John went back home, Mel recognised Dave and Teresa who wandered past the pub. Dave happened to work with M's ex husband many years ago and is living in Southampton, and just happened to be in Teignmouth on a weekend visit, after an absence of many years, and was down on the beach to see our mutual friend Lynne who was out rowing on the estuary. Dave and Teresa are getting married shortly. So that was another pair of strangers. Then, and this was planned, Jude, wife of John (see above) turned up to see Helena. So me and M and Helena and Jude spent the evening becoming new friends and a whole new social circle is formed. I have never met any of the above (apart from M who I live with, and Helena who I have met 3 times). And within these new friendships there are so many things in common: teenage children, celebrity tenuous links, living within and without Teignmouth. So many new friends.
