I Fought the Law and the Law Won

One of the basic tenets of western human existence, after, say, the 10 Commandments; and Don't Put Your Party Details on Facebook; and Never Try Incest Or Morris Dancing, is Thou Shalt Not Buy A Festival Hat.
I bought one at Cropredy, and it is already put to the back of the darkest cupboard, from where I am forbidden to remove it. Quite rightly, I shall shortly have to face the direst punishment that The Law provides and be forced to put it on eBay.

I think your hat would be a success on e-Bay to be sure. Its very "festive"..in a Totnes art student sorta way.

Noooo! Keep it for next year. It's a very nice hat!

It suits you; makes you look all jolly and stuff. Also means we'll be able to find you quite easily in the crowd should we be toting jugs of ale in the knowledge that your glass is broke. Keep the hat.

Jolly? It makes you look a miserable sod! Oh, that's the face. I agree with Mallers, keep it for next year - maybe I'll get one too!

According to my missus I still need to live down my straw "titfer" - which I still defiantly wear now and again...just to reassure her...

lol - as festival hats go, it's fairly tame. I once got a festival poncho which I was convinced I would wear IRL. Needless to say it's never seen the light of day again.
