Perfick

I used to have a very independent teenage son, who took himself around the world at the age of 17, paid for by himself, and who later spent 4 months in South America (paid for by his absent mother). Now I have a 21 year old son who drinks me out of milk and tea bags and sugar, but not beer, and who practices incessantly on the piano and his guitar and mouth organ (where did he get that from?), when he is not studying his Uni books. He is polite and helpful, except with regard to the tidiness of his room. He never asks for money, even though he has bought himself a new camera (it's a posh Canon) and is off to Spain for a fortnight next week (intending to live on £5 a day). OK, I suppose I always gave him and his sister the impression they could look elsewhere for support (it was expensive enough bringing them up by myself, with the help of Evil M and Wonderful M).I thought kids were supposed to be a bother. Where the heck have I gone wrong?

Sounds a long way from the kid pestering for money you were on about a year or so ago. Sounds like you've done a fine job! Good on you, and him :)

My three kids are back for Easter.

I've locked myself in my office.

But I reckon they'll still find me.

To check I haven't nicked their Easter Eggs.

I have exactly the same problem LH - my 13 and 15 year olds are pleasant, polite, helpful and reasonable. Is there no hope for me?

My boy is in Bali where he arrived from thailand with a gashed toe from falling off the back of a taxi, burns to 50% of his body from falling in a fire drunk and multiple contusions from falling down a cliff. He has spent 50% of his budget in 25% of his time and his girlfriend had her passport stolen. I and his ma will probably have to bail him out via western union before too long......and you are worried!

Peace
Mermy
