Very busy. The Pilchard Inn
appears to have been taken over by the hotel
which means you have to queue for ages at the one remaining bit open to the hoi polloi
At least the children had fun
And we were driven there and back by a very proficient learner driver who managed the tidal road at Aveton Gifford, reversing uphill in the face of oncoming traffic, and managed the lower ferry at Dartmouth

Burgh Island? I'd never heard of it so clicked on Google Earth but, apparently, their camera didn't make it on to the ferry.
Have you seen how much the hotel charges for a single night?
I think it is about 300 of your english pounds
TROUTY SAY:
Well yes. It starts at around that price. Per night.
However, I've just noticed that the prices include breakfast and dinner.... so that's all right then!
We walked through that archway on Bank Holiday Monday. Stopped off at the hippy bookshop on the other side. Jackie thumped me on the arm when she caught me browsing through a book entitled "How to get your life back when someone you care for has borderline personality disorder" or words to that effect. Ha!

Matt, you got off lightly!
Cripes, Mel would have wanted that book!
I had a meal at the Pilchard once. It was s**te. It's the only meal I've ever had where even the wafer in the ice cream was chewy.
Mind you, that was about 20 years ago so it's probably changed by then.
Gottle
